Manufacturing

Thanks to our long experience in the CNC programming we are able to produce, starting from a drawing, extremely complicated small turned parts with centesimal precision for the most exigent customers. Our high-quality equipment both for the production and the final control makes this possible.   We also produce industrial blades for different uses. Our experience in the production of cutting instruments since more than 50 years combined with the most modern technologies for the grinding with computer numerical control enable us to reach the highest quality levels.

Materials

As far as the micro turning is concerned, we are specialized in the machining of all types of stainless steel: AISI 303 W.1.4305, AISI 304 W.1.4301/07, AISI 316 W.1.4401/04, AISI 420 W.1.4028 but also many other different materials such as free cutting steel, brass, aluminium and Teflon.

One of our major strengths is the flexibility: we are able to offer sampling services for 10-20 pcs but also realize production lots of tens of thousands of pcs.

In the industrial blades field, we decided to follow the continuous evolution of the market towards the need of more and more performing tools to cut composite fibres such as Kevlar, carbon fibre, fiberglass and other niche applications. This aspect leads us to specialize ourselves in the machining of special types of steel with very high hardness (60-65 HRC) among which the high speed steel (HSS).

Our equipment, in expansion, includes 9 CNC sliding headstock lathes able to machine bars from 2 to 34 mm of diameter.

● Lathe STAR SR20JII with 6 axis + 2 rotating axis, max. machining diameter 22 mm, with high pressure (70bar) refrigerating device and automatic barfeeder IEMCA

● Lathe STAR SB16 with 3+1 axis, max. machining diameter 16 mm with automatic barfeeder IEMCA

● Lathe STAR SR10J with 5 axis + 1 rotating, max. machining diameter 10 mm with automatic barfeeder IEMCA

● Lathe STAR SR20RIII with 5 axis + 2 rotating axis, max. machining diameter 22 mm, with automatic barfeeder IEMCA

● Lathe STAR SR20RIII with 5 axis + 2 rotating axis, max. machining diameter 22 mm, with high pressure (70bar) refrigerating device and automatic barfeeder IEMCA

● Lathe STAR SR32JIII with 6 axis + 2 rotating axis, max. machining diameter 34 mm, with high pressure (70 bar) refrigerating device and automatic barfeeder IEMCA

● Lathe STAR SR32J with 5 axis + 2 rotating axis, max. machining diameter 34 mm, with high pressure (30 bar) refrigerating device and automatic barfeeder IEMCA

● Lathe STAR SB12 with 5 axis + 2 rotating axis, max. machining diameter 12 mm, with high pressure (30bar) refrigerating device and automatic barfeeder IEMCA

For the production of blades, we have available different CNC sharpening and grinding machines with 5 axis of millesimal precision and robotized automation.

Quality Control

Our motto is “technology, service and flexibility” to always offer products with the highest quality standards in complete compliance with the customer’s specifications and needs.

Various inspection tests are carried out during each phase of the production process by using sophisticated equipment such as the profile projector MITUTOYO, surface roughness testers, micrometres and various plug gauges. The frequency of the sampling is agreed with the customer and on request we can supply reports of the tests.

For the blades the visual controls to exclude surface defects are various and carried out during each production step. The cutting performance is tested on materials specific for the final use of the blade.

All Dofet products are 100% made in Italy and made in Premana.

Extra Services

Thanks to our long-term cooperation with trusted local partners, we are able to offer extra services to guarantee high quality final results.

We are able to offer services of heat treating, galvanic treatment such as zinc coating, chroming, bluing coating process on common and stainless steel and aluminium anodization. It is also possible to have services of polishing and grinding of all the pcs we produce: micro turned parts, scissors and blades.
